Yoga-Nov.25

So i went to hot yoga again with my mom... i wasnt feeling well today but the instructor told me that it is very normal to sometimes feel great and other times feel soo bad. Although i was struggling with the heat, i managed to stick through the whole class ��

Hot yoga!

I went to try hot yoga with Mikayla and and our parents. It was soooo tiring. I was sweating a lot and thought everyone was crazy for going everyday... after a while, i got used to the temperature and it was relaxing. Although the heat was killing me, i kept through the whole 90 minute class and that made me soo proud of myself. At the end of the class, i got a membership and i am planning to go more often.

Interim report

I think i should be getter a G in this class for a few reasons. Firstly, i have been encouraging my friends to try their best and always had a positive energy towards gym so i wouldnt make my frinnds not wanna do p.e either. I try to make it into a fun 'competition' in order to make me want to do my best and hardest when we do fitness things. Secondly, i always brought my gym strip to the class. I think that people wearing gym strip is a big part of the class because we have to be wearing proper gear to move around in so we would be comfortable doing exercices. Thirdly, i kept track for everything on my blog and even posted things i do in my everyday life such as walking the dogs or going for a run. Lastly, i brought my physical activities from gym class to at home. I am now doing more activities at home like running, yoga, or at-home videos. All in all, i think my work habits are good.

I think i did not do as well as i did before for the beep test because i have not been doing any other activities this week and did not have gym for a the week before last week. I am now starting to go running again after school for 45 minutes each day.

I realized how much a friend can support you while you are running or Doing any activities. I had sooo much fun during this fitness

October 11: fitness friday

For fitness, my friends and I chose the jogging group in the community run. We ended up following the wrong crowd and ran further than we were supposed to. Lol. I was very proud because I did not stop jogging :)

Saturday morning run

Today Gaby and I went running at goldstone park. She was using the zombies run app and I used the interval training app. I ran for a minute then walked for 15 seconds. We did that for about 30 minutes and it was very tiring!!

Today my friends and I played ping pong. We started doing 10 exercises on the triple threat board. For the last few minutes of the block, we ran around the school twice :)

Fitness friday : September 27

On september 27, we did the pyramid exercise. I went all the way down to 0 and at that point I was dying. I found out later on that day that we only had to go down to 5 but was very glad I did not know that because if I wanted to complete the exercise my mind wouldve told me to quit at the 5. I think I was doing very well because I did not cheat on myself and skip anything. It was very helpful having friends that keep the energy positive and fun to workout around. One thing that happened which was funny was that yulia and I were dying after the v sit and couldn't get up so we rolled on to out stomachs and got up from there. I was sooo sore over the weekend but I was so glad because it means that I worked hard and tried my hardest with some of the exercise.

Fitness tuesday : September the 17

On Tuesday,  the whole gym period did the pond run. I love this exercise so I came in with a positive energy hoping to pace myself for the whole run. Suprisingly, I did last the whole run and walk. I ran with a friend at my running level and I think we helped eachothers minds to not think of bad things about the run. I also encouraged some gr 8s to try and pace themselves instead of sprinting the first few seconds then just walking. One thing I learned that was interesting and very true was that counting down til when the exercise is like cheating on yourself because you are just wating for the exercise to end and not really care about your progress. Overall,  I loved the pond run and hope to do it again soon.

Fitness app!

I love using apps to motivate myself to go out and run or keep track of the things I eat. My two favorite apps at the moment are Zombies, Run! And MyFitnessPal. I use the running game to make my running sessions more enjoyable so it would make me want to do it more often. For example, I went out for a run with my parents and my dog (they basically walked the whole time) and I used this app to run for about 25-30 minutes. In between songs, there are zombie chases which can be scary at times but you would have to sprint up to 2 minutes in order to get away! I love this app soo much !

Dodgeball

On september 16, my class and I played dodgeball. I helped the class by cheering people on when I was out. I also pass the ball to someone I did not know. I think my friends also helped me feel comfortable in this class :)

Hill Run

For today, we did the hill run. it was really tiring since it was the first time to do one this year. I think it was a pretty good exercise for fitness. I hate the way my legs feel on the day after the run but it just shows that I was working hard throughout the workout. I also wasn't too excited to run in the sun either! Here is a video of me running up the hill and a picture of me walking back to the high school after the run. Overall, I enjoyed the run and hope to do it again soon.

Fitness friday

To start off the first day of fitness, all the classes did the beep test. I was suprised to get a 8.3 because I did not do much over the summer. I think my goal for the year would be to beat my personal best of 9.3. As for the other fitness activities such as sit and reach, body press, and the t test, I did not see any changes from the start of last year to this year. I am looking forward to improving my fitness during this year.

I took a photo a few minutes after the beep test to get evidence of my hard work and right after running, my face was sweaty and my cheeks were red.

Final post

this year's P.E has been a great experience for me. I think ive been working hard as I can for most of my regular and fitness days. This class has helped me with being healthy outside of school and eating healthy things for snacks. One favorite thing about this gym class was being able to do things at own pace without feeling bad about myself .one important thing I learned in this class was that fitness is about yourself,  and you and your friends  may not be at the same level of fitness. Throughout this semester,  I think I realized that I love running. I loved participating in all the fitness activities such as the pond run or the beep test. Therefore, I think I should get an A as my letter grade.

Fitness Tuesday !

Today in gym class we did the beep test along with some fitness capabilities test. I didn't not see any change from the beginning of the year and now but I have reached 9.2 in the beep test once in the year. As for my other fitness tests such as body bridge or body press I have improved quite a bit. I am proud of what I was able to do in the beep test and will be looking forward to doing more next year. I think one thing I learned by doing the beep test was to know how to set my goals and keep going even if our mind tells us to stop. I found the little speech made by ms.phillips was helpful because she taught us that even if we feel discomfort, we still have to try and push our selves to our limits. Discomfort is different than pain so if your body is capable of doing it, you just have to convince your mind that you can do it. Overall, fitness days have changed my habits like keeping my pace or different ways to train yourself to be able to run longer.

Zombies, run!

Went running today with my new app "Zombies, run." I'm sweating soo much. The game requires you to run for about 30 minutes to collect items such as batteries or first aid kit. You hear what is happening around you while you are in a zombie apocalypse in between the songs you listen to. There are zombie chases where you will have to sprint up to 2 minutes! Overall this is a great game and I had a awesome time while running.

Lacrosse :)

Today in P.E, our class played lacrosse. It was a great experience, and probably the most fun I had outside in grade 8 P.E class. One thing that I thought was great was that girls were able to play against another girl group and we were able to pick our own teams. This was a good idea because we know who we work well with and also not be intimidated by the guys. I think most of the P.E days are not as fun as the fitness days because when we are in a group of guys and girls, the guys just pass to other guys. Making it all girls or all guys helped solve this problem. Over all, I think I worked hard because I was huffing and puffing the entire time and my face got red and sweaty, which was a good sign.

My Reflection

My best days in P.E block was probably most of the fitness days and the times our whole gym period played games together. I think it's a smart idea to combine all the classes because we can play with others and still be motivated by your friends. I felt like I worked hardest on the fitness days because my body aches the next day and I can see a big improvement in running from the start of the year til now. For example, I was not able to run the pond run for the whole time, but now I can and even run a bit faster. I think the only think that stands in anyone's way is themselves. I feel like if you don't start with a positive energy, you will not be participating or have any good sportsmanship. My friends motivate me to participate. Sometimes if your friends are tired and are in a bad mood, it kinda rubs off on you and you start to feel the same way too.

Yes, I am improving a lot in fitness because I am able to run faster and not be out of breath. I think another thing that I improved was keeping myself healthy and watch for the daily activities I do out of school. On the days I don`t have gym, I either go out for a run, or do sit-ups, squats, and other stretches that I like to do. I think I need to improve on pacing myself because I sometimes get carried away and run til I feel like my throat is closing up and then suddenly stop.

I think I should be getting an A, probably about 89% or so because I have been trying to work hard and help P.E be a better period for myself and my friends. For example, I try running with Mikayla and my other friends and try to motivate them and make the experience about having fun and being healthy instead of thinking like its something that is required to do.

ZUMBA

For today`s dance, we did Zumba. It was my first time trying this type of dance and I had a great time! One of the reason why I had fun is because no one really knew how to be good at it so it makes everyone a newbie. I got to just to go crazy with my friends and over all, it was just a great experience for me.. I`m hoping to do more of zumba in the future !

Importance of P.E

Physical education is a huge part in our lives. I think I've been getting more and more stronger at playing running and lifting weights. Going out for a walk/run after school has been giving me a huge amout of energy. I was able to wake up earlier and still feel awake at school. I used to hate P.E because I thought it was a test to see how good people were at sports, but I learned that it was a way for us to get healthy one step at a time. This gym class encouraged me to go running as much as I can in my week. I loved that we were able to do fitness in our level. Over all, fitness has been a great deal to me and I will be working harder and harder each class.

Workout reflection !

For today's gym class, we had physical training in the weight room. I mainly worked on cardio and weights. For cardio, I went on the bikes, EFX machine, and the treadmill. It was a good workout and I pretty much started sweating very quickly. For the weights, I did two sets of ten reps on each side. I was still sore from the last day so I didn't get to do it for very long. Overall, I think I had a great workout.

My Reflection pt.2 (:

On every single P.E class, I came prepared for class by having my water bottle, always wearing gym strip/clothes (including foot-wear,) and had my hair tied up in a ponytail. I participated a lot during the fitness days. This is because we were able to test our abilities for different activities and we were able to go at our own pace. The normal sports days were kind-of a struggle for me because I'm not a 'sports person' and playing with the higher grades made me feel a bit awkward.

I think I contribute in the class well because I always participated in various sports. I think I'm always a happy or ready to do anything type of person during gym class. Although I may not be happy with all the sports we play, I guess it's fun to just play and learn different techniques every class. I'm not the most social person in the world but I think I interact with the class pretty good. Since I got into gym class with none of my friends, trying to have 'workout buddies' was somewhat difficult for me.

I was able to accomplish a lot during the fitness days. My favorite activity was the community run. I was able to run without stopping and at the end of it all, I think it really helped me learn how to control my pace without being too easy on myself. My fitness goal is to go running more often.

To me, leadership means to be encouraging and supporting to others. I think the best leader to me was the teacher assistants. I think they were a great leader because they always pushed you to do your best and made you participate in all the games we play at gym.

I want to be 'fit' by the end of the year. I think being healthy is very important in life and maintaining my physical appearance by playing sports and running will be a key to my health. I am most proud that I was able to participate a lot in gym class.

I think my letter grade for now is an A. Even though I'm not the best at every single sport, I think I participated well in class, and tried my best for half the semester.

My Reflection

For the first time I walked into gym class, all that was in my head was What am I going to do to impress my teacher..? Then during the semester, I learned that gym class was meant to be for yourself, not to impress any other person. I was able to accomplish many things such as being able to plan my running intervals, go running on my own time, as well as trying new type of sports (football.) I think I improved quite a lot from the beginning of the year 'til now. What I like most about our gym class/period is that we had many choices on what to do for that day. I loved that I was able to play sports I was comfortable with and not being embarrassed about doing something wrong. One dislike from our gym class was that they mixed the grade 8 and 9 together. This was a good idea in a way that we get to work with different people but I feel like it was somewhat awkward for the grade 8 since we weren't used to having gym classes with different grades. Overall, my favorite part of our gym class was the fitness days. I love running and cardio exercises. I hope to do more of community runs and beep test to really help build up our stamina.
